Today we said farewell (or, vertu sæl) to Iceland. Last night we stayed up late in the hostel common room, and it didn't get dark until after midnight! Icelandics do, in fact, wear their sunglasses at night. Unfortunately, the forecast for the northern lights was 2/10, so we'll just have to come back and see that another time!
In the morning we walked down to the bay and once again risked frost bite on our fingers so we could take come cool pictures. Totally worth it.
Then we walked around the city and marveled at the mountains peeking from between the colorful buildings.
~such art~
We also discovered that Santa is indeed very real:
Iceland was an amazing experience. However, we don't mind leaving behind near-freezing temperatures and the difficult-to-covert currency of Icelandic Krona. Paying 1000 of anything for a sandwich just feels so wrong.
We love you Ísland, but now it's time to discover Dublin, Ireland!
